Lockwood’s MC-12DL weigher is designed specifically to meet the growing demand for packaging of larger sized produce and larger bag weights. Its 9 inch buckets are the largest on the market. It is excellently suited for the weighing of potatoes, onions, citrus and other items.

As with all Lockwood weighers, the MC12DL comes with a wide variety of bagging attachments, including wicketed baggers, roll stock poly and net baggers, carousels, net clippers, etc. The MC12DL can be effectively used for bag weights between 0.5 Kg (1 Lb.) and 25 Kg (50 Lb.). The MC12DL is the only weigher on the market that can discharge 25 Kg (50 Lbs.) of produce in a single dump. Its special 6x6 opposing bucket design allows for shorter travel distance of produce in the discharge cycle, permitting greater speed and gentler produce handling.

Machine Operation:
Bulk produce is taken from its source up to the top of the weigher by means of an inclined infeed belt. The infeed belt discharges to a cross conveyor, wich feeds produce, as needed back and forth to the two electrically vibrated hoppers. The vibrationg hoppers are photo-eye controlled to call for produce as they empty. The vibrating hoppers feed produce into one of the 12 electrically vibrated lanes (6 on each side of the weigher). These vibrating lanes, in turn, dose produce into 12 weighing buckets (again 6 on each side), where each dose is weighed by means of a high precision loadcell. Flow of produce into the weighing buckets is controlled by means of a pneumatic retaining flap.The weigher’s computer then calculates the best combination of buckets to achieve the desired weights. With 12 buckets available to it, the computer has several thousand combinations to choose from, thereby quaranteing a final bag weight extremely close to target weight. Once the computer has identified the best combination of buckets, those buckets are discharged by means of a pneumatically opened door, through a set of diverting flaps to one of two discharge conveyers (depending on discharge-system). These conveyors can each feed both sides of the machine, into up to four different bagging attachments. Depending on product, the MC12DL will produce up to 60 five pound bags per minute, with accuracy to within an average of 8 grams (a fraction of an ounce) of target weight. As with all Lockwood equipment, the MC12DL is built to the highest standards of durability and reliability. The weigher, constructed of I-beam Seel rather tube stock, is the heaviest on the market providing the most stable and weighing platform and assuring an extremely long useful life.
